APPCRASH NAV 2009 R2

Hi,

we a navision database with many classic clients and 5 nas-es, and sometimes we get a crash error. We also have ExpandIT Launcher to do scheduling calls to navision.

We are having this issue many times earlier so we have to get a fast solution.

I am going to explain the environment.

The server machine is:

Windows server 2012 Standard (x64)

Intel Xeon CPU X5675, 3,07GHz (2 processors)

12 GB of RAM

The database server machine is:

Windows server 2012 Standard (x64)

Intel Xeon CPU ES-2640, 2,50GHz (4 processors)

24 GB of RAM

The event log is:

According to the event log entries, you are using build 6.0.32012.0, which is the base version of NAV 2009 R2. One thing you can try - and this isn't trivial, but it means you don't have to do anything to NAV code - is to upgrade your clients, NASes, and possibly ExpandIT (I don't know a lot about ExpandIT and its versions) to the latest hotfix release for 2009 R2. Back up your SQL database first. But the latest build of 2009 R2 contains a ton of hotfixes that you can read about on CustomerSource. Looks like the latest build is 38655.

    https://mbs.microsoft.com/customersource/Global/NAV/downloads/hot-fixes/NAV2009SP1PlatformHotfixOverview

All of this is a way of saying that I can't tell anything about why this is crashing from the event log entries. There isn't any useful information there, other than it is finsql.exe that dies.

The only alternative I can think of would be looking for some manner of pattern. Do users get an error message before it dies? Certain times of day? Only when ExpandIT does something?
