Using Rec to filter records for processing

Can you explain this line in detailed

Rec always means your current Page Reord. Like if you are on a Sales Order Page then Rec is signifying the Sales Header Table. Now if you want to process some Records of Table B based on the current record you have opened then you used this terminology as

Rec - Sales Header
records - Records of Table B.
