Hi Guys,
I have a client who uses a Item Tracking Code for controlling lot numbers as you can see on the screen shot all ticks are set. But they want do untick the one for Lot Sales Tracking. NAV will not allow this and tells us that we have to remove the "Lot Specific Tracking" tick first. But this cannot be done since there are already Item Ledger Entries for items using this Item Tracking Code.
How would you go about this? Would you remove the ticks with force? Or would you maybe set up a new Item Tracking Code? Is there nothing to do about it?
Thanks,
T.

well... the flags change the behaviour of item ledger entry application, too. If you remove sales lot tracking, the shipment posting will apply against the quantity in stock, determined by costing method, without paying attention to lot numbers. Unless you use reservations in sales, though Is that what your customer wants? Like, filling up a silo (with lot nos.) and shipping the stuff out sort-of FIFO? If yes, you can only remove the flag by force. For all existing sales orders with tracking specifications for this item you would need to remove these, too. And I would first test this in a copy of the live database.
with best regards
