Reporting partial production

Production order, quantity 4 units, one line, 4 components, 3 routing lines.
If I post an Output Journal against the first line of the routing, quantity 1, thus recording that a 'step' has been done, but not for the full quantity, I can't find a report that shows this. No components have been posted, and now ILE entries created of course. Looking at capacity task list it still shows the Input quantity as 4.
What my customer was hoping to see was 'how much more needs to be done in step one'.
Any ideas guys?
