On page close & javascript control addin's

Hi all,
We've got a couple of javascript control addins for editing html content.
Using a 'Save' action we can save the content but we'd also like that do that (or at least prompt a yes/no) when closing the page on which the addin lives. If I use the OnQueryClosePage, the javascript addin seems to be disposed already and I can't get the current content anymore.
Is there any way of accessing the addin at the moment a user closes the page?
