Send-ahead quantity - Multi-level structure

Hello,

I have a customer using NAV 2009 SP1 classic and they want to use the MPS.
The manufacturing process is as follows: Raw Material -> Semi-finished Item 1 -> Semi-finished Item 2 -> Finished Item. The raw material and the semi-finished items are the only components of the next item and the relation is 1:1. The routings of the manufactured items contain only one operation each.

The system will create a multi-level production order. So at this moment, the production of semi-finished item 2 will start only after the whole quantity of semi-finished item 1 is produced. The "send-ahead quantity" feature seems to work only in one routing with multiple operations. Does anybody know if I can use this feature also in my situation using standard NAV? Or do I have to make customizations?
