Intercompany between Nav Versions 2009 - 2015.

Hi All,
I have a client who is looking for a new company to be set up in Benelux and integrated with their UK Company using Intercompany in NAV. All good so far.
The UK company are using NAV 2009 original (not R2) and the service order prepared by our sales team has been created with the Benelux having NAV 2015 implemented.
I have done a quick forum search but not found anything related to the question I have, which is simply - have any of you done Intercompany setup between multiple versions of NAV before such as this? I am researching this at the moment, I obviously want to make sure from a consultant point of view that this can actually be done across these versions, and be functional and stable.
Both countries will be on separate databases, held on the same SQL Server.
If any of you have any pointers, can warn me of any pitfalls to watch out for, or have tried this and know it will not work well between versions that are several years apart like this, it would be much appreciated
