Set code on "pause" until window is active again

Hi all
Hope someone can help me with this little issue - have tried to make it work but it seems to be more difficult that I presumed.
Situation: when an "outside NAV" feature is called - ex. IE or CMD - how can I stop code executing further on until I return to the form (become active again).
Suggestions would be very helpfull.
