Residual Account, Business Unit Consolidation

Hello all,

I've tried finding the answer to my question, but the only topic I found (viewtopic.php?f=23&t=57683&start=0&hilit=consolidation+residual+account) is not active anymore.

I'm consolidating a Chart of Accounts from a subsidiary in the same database, using the Import Database function.

After the consolidation is imported and processed, an amount that equals to the company's result in the period, is posted to the Residual Account.

Can anybody explain to me, why Navision is doing this?

Thanks,

    Ok,

It took me a while but I finally realized it.

Navision posts any unbalanced amount as an adjustment.

The source subsidiary I was importing the data from, had only P&L amounts, but no Balance Sheet. Therefore, there will always be a huge amount (= company's result) to be posted to the Residual Account.

Thanks for whoever read this and tried to think about a solution.
