Force multiline textbox control size in RTC

I'm having a problem with multi line text input fields on pages in Nav 2015. For certain users textboxes are shrunken down to a very small size and the user needs to use a tiny scroll bar to see the second (or 3rd, etc.) lines.

On previous versions of Nav (in the classic client), you could manually size the textbox control so that it always displays enough room for multiple lines. I am trying to do something similar in the 2015 role tailored client and force a textbox to always be a certain size.

However in Nav 2015 the actual physical layout physical size of controls can't be specified (as far as I can tell) as it is determined by the actual device running the client.

I would appreciate any advice for this issue.
