Overlapping shop calendars

Does anyone have an ideas as to how to setup a shop calendar where the following two shifts exist;
Shift 1 - 8am to 5pm
Shift 2 - 12noon to 9pm
I have pretty much concluded that NAV does not handle overlapping shifts; however I didn't know whether anyone had any creative solutions for working around this.
Only 3 people work the 2nd shift so I don't want to make the overall shop calendar 8am to 9pm as this will overstate the capacity.
