C/Side: PDFs Vs. Texts

I am currently working as a NAV implementation consultant but want to learn the development side of things.

I find the Microsoft PDFs pretty bland and boring and am wondering if anyone has used the texts below from Amazon and found them to be better.

Any advice would be appreciated. If I have to buckle-down and go through the PDFs so be it.

I've reviewed both books and I like them better than the MSFT training material. There's also a book by Alex Chow (http://www.amazon.com/Getting-Started-D ... =alex+chow) that covers getting started in application development. If you already work in the field it might be too light for you though.

After that Daves book is great technical details.

The cookbook has special solutions for common problems.
