NAV 2015 creating new reports - report selection

I'm using 2015 build 8.00.40459 and I have what I hope is a small problem where presentation of the solution will cause me to say "duh"

I have an occasional need to create a completely new version of a base report. The client requires truly massive amounts of additinal data - not just some layout changes - so I don't want to modify the base report in the event of changes due to hotfixes, etc. But ultimately the report is run via report selection on table 77.

Well it looks like in 2015 you can only select reports that are defined on table 9651 (report layout selection). My problem is I can't see how to add a new report to table 9651. Can anyone provide some gentle guidance on how to do this?

[EDIT] My problem is not table 9651 - it is that new reports are not showing up in the object table(?) as reports

Ok, I found my problem. There is a huge bone in my head. :oops: 

When I installed NAV 2015 I did not notice that installed a new instance (NAVDEMO) of SQL 2012. My dev environment was using default instance where I had restored the sample DB and the RTC was connecting to the NAVDEMO instance. Pointing the services for the RTC to the correct SQL instance fixed my problem
