InitValue property for a field

Hi everyone,
I added a boolean custom field to Sales & Receivables table and set the property InitValue of this field to Yes.
When I open the corresponding page, the value of the field appears as No (the box is not checked).
Isn't this property supposed to initialize a field value?

If i'm not mistaken it only will work on new record.
InitValue Property on Help : Sets the initial value of this field when a user creates a new record.
