Reduced PDF Size when printing from NAV

Hi,

When a report is printed as PDF from NAV the file size is around 100 KB whereas the same report is printed to external pdf printer (Print -> select a pdf printer) the file size in only 35 KB. Is it somehow possible to achieve this reduced file size while printing PDF from NAV itself? Please suggest. Thanks!

Did you find a solution to this problem, eventually without using any external software? I have the same issue, e.g. for the same document

• Print to PDF from request page -> 110Kb
• Print to PDF from report preview -> 110Kb
• Print using PDF creator -> 32Kb

Seems there is something embedded in the file (fonts?) because if I print 10 invoices in the same file the size is 127Kb.
We are running NAV 2013 CU3 with SQL Server 2008 R2.

There is a setting in Middle tier called "Report PDF Font Embedding" that includes the font in the pdf. You can enable/disable this setting. Its available in NAV 2015 and 2016. It was included in one of the hotfixes in 2013 I believe.

Thanks, I totally missed that: it's available from 2013R2 CU16 and 2015 CU4.
I will try to replicate it in some way since an upgrade is not an option at the moment.
