Reports 2013 R2 - Labels/captions

Hi.

I am a novice to reports in 2013 (and floundering badly!!!) and have a question about labels/captions. I notice in NAV they put captions in the dataitem which they define as Text Constants. When you look at each row of the dataset it contains all of these captions, which makes it so much bigger. My question is, why not Labels instead of Text Constants?

    Hi,

    That is because of Multi-language support. Labels are printed in your language, but for 'external' documents like invoices you might want to print those in the language of the customer/vendor. So the caption of a field can be different (although from the same text constant) for each row of data.
