saving file as csv problem

hi,

after previewing a report, go to "File" "Save as html". in the file name, i type in the extension .csv after the file name.

the problem is on some computers when i open the file using Excel, it displays the html code instead. on other computers i don't have this problem.

any suggestion what might be the cause.

does the same thing occur if you select

Print & check off the Print To File checkbox

and enter "c:\Yourname.csv"?

i don't have the check box "print to file" that you told me. btw i'm using nav 4.0

when I select print - I get a printer selection window. That window has the check box.

is your report set to print to a certain printer?

note you can create a phony "Generic/TextOnly Printer" to use for this type of opertation.

i tried to use "print to file", i.e. save the file in a csv format. but on opening the file, its a load of uncomprehensible garbage

did you use the "Generic /Text Only" printer type?

have you tried www.print2excel.com ?
