autofill and drop down in nav2013

Hi all,
is there a way to stop the autofill of fields like No. on the Sales line?
My customer has item numbers that start with same first 6 numbers...If they enter just part of the number, it picks up the first item that starts with this part...They prefer not to have this; so can it be switched off one way or another?
so, second questions : Can I add the std. dropdowncontrol on No. of the Sales Line,(or any other field where it is not available) as you have for customer on the Sales header, where you just type a part, and where the dropdown control shows the filtered list? The dropdown now opens directly the advanced list, without filtering.
