Allow to see a field on item card

Dear All,

Is there a way that i can allow a user from seeing a field on the items card. example i want the user to see the item but i don want to show him the Cost of the item.

    What version of NAV you are running ? if you are on RTC then there is property for a field called HideValue, Enabled you can program so that you can hide the value and disable the field. You need some kind of customization on the user setup to identify the user or you can use the USERID.

    ok thanks, i am running NAV 2013 R2.
    ok so there is no direct way other than doing customization. i will check it, is there an already used code where i can refer to in my customization
