Restoring live/company database to new database/company

Please advise how i can restore the current live/company database to a new database/company in NAV 2013 R2?

I assume this has to be done through the development client but i need instructions on how to do this.

do you want to make a backup with restore afterwards or do you want to upgrade the current version to nav 2013 r2?

for backup/restore: if you want to have a 1:1 copy, simple make a sql backup of the database (SSMS) and restore this backup to the target database server, maybe with an alternative name.
