hi all,

everytime I start Navision I have to do "Show Column" to see all columns I need or a column which I droped to an other position is at the old position after closing and starting Navision again.

How can I save my settings?

thanks for your answer,

Michael

Settings are saved automatically into .ZUP file after closing the Navision. Location is in you profile, name of the file is default FIN.ZUP, if you set startup parameter ID=<something> than zup file will have name <something>.zup (<something> can include path) but if someone change the object (form, report etc.) the settings are lost....

    kine,
the fact that the report section of a zup file is cleared when a report is changed, makes sense in the case that the changes breaks references to the report made in the .zup file.

However, this is very inconvenient when you have an installation of 70 stores and the settings for every user is cleared. Is there any way to override this and not clear the zup file if you are confident that you have not messed up any references?

I am thinking of creating a preferences table that ca be used to retain some settings, but hope there is a more elegant way around this....

There is no way around this is internal process and was not changed for whole time... After the internal timestamp of some object is changed, all saved properties for this object are lost. It is by design.
