Print Preview over 2 Pages

Hi Mibuso.com World :D

I have a client complaining that when they Preview a Report (NAV 2013 R2) that it displays on 2 pages with just the Header and Footer on the 2nd page!
The Print out only prints 1 page which I would of thought would of been the bigger issue if the Prints out printed on 2 too!

Can the Print Preview cater for the different Printers and Formats out there? Say for the Default Printer, does the Preview communicate or know what/how the Printer will interpret the Page when Printing? My case is that it can't cater with knowing how each Printer will format the Page, is this correct?

If I simulate this with the Standard Shipment Report for Landscape (Standard A4 Size)

Interactive Size - 297mm, 210mm
Page Size - 297mm, 210mm

If I Print Preview then this shows 2 Pages?

Keep up the good work

    Hi,

Try to set PageBreak End to None if you using the list and set it "End". You report body width should be less than (Page Width - Left Margin - Right Margin). That's work for me.

    Hi Yukon

Thanks for your reply appreciate :)!

Unfortunately didn't make any change to my Report.

If you change the standard Report 208 (NAV 2013 R2)

    Interactive Size 29.7cm, 21cm
    Page Size 29.7cm, 21cm
Page Break already defaulted to None.

Save and Preview the Report for a Posted Shipment with 1 Shipment Line, how many Pages?

It seems to be a known problem.

Open report, go to report properties and in the last one that should be "PreviewMode" change from "Normal" to "PrintLayout".

This way your preview mode will be like final output.

This happens because sometimes the preview will render the report wrong, can't tell you for sure the issue that causes this problem but if you try this way you will view the correct way.

    Hope this helps :)

    Hi TonyDuarte

Your a superstar =D> - that did the trick. Funny enough the standard Shipment Report was no change but my adaption of that Report worked a gem \:D/ !

    Hi Tony,

Thanks for the solution, but I can't find the property 'Previewmode'. I'm no expert in NAV Reports so can you tell me exactly where to find this property?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Do I do this in the MS NAV Development Environment? I can't find it there.

I am using NAV 2013 and not NAV 2013 R2 though, maybe that's why?

    Cheers

Yes it needs to be in development environment and it is available in NAV 2013 also.

Open the report in design mode.
Go to properties, and the last one should be Preview Mode :)

    Hi Toml

Unfortunately this just in NAV 2013 R2 Reporting and not NAV 2013.

    Good luck
