Issues with Aggregate function when using excel buffer

Hi,
I am using the excel buffer table to create a report from 2013R2 - If i pass the formula "=AGGREGATE(9,4,R2:R3)" the cell in excel shows an error of #name? - if I go to the formula bar at the top of excel and go to the end of the formula and hit enter the error disappears and the correct values are shown.(which proves that the formula is correct!)
If i use the sum or Subtotal functions everything works great (problem is I need the totals to be maintained even if filters are used in excel and the only way to do this is aggregate)
has anyone else had this issue - and know how to fix it??
