USING OBDC INSTEAD OF ADO Any solution?

Hello all experts , me and my queries and the responses am in love with mibuso..... :P

I have a doubt can we use ODBC instead of ADO, if yes then what is the type of automation that we should use?
Which one is better in terms of usage with navision ADO Or ODBC.

    ODBC is old technology (pre .NET), ADO is newer (.NET)...

    it is believed that odbc is better in performance as compared to ado is it true??
    If yes then can we use ODBC in nav 13??
    If yes then can u please tell me the automation available in NAV 2013 R2 for odbc?
