How do i import bulk record in item table.

Hi,

Recently while i importing one lakhs record in item table, i got an error message that huge data could not be imported.
Again i spited it into ten thousand and imported again the same error message and finally i imported five thousand it got accepted and imported.

Now, i how can i import a bulk record in single attempt ie., one lakhs or fifty thousand records.
If any one faced the issue already advise me.
