Combine Licenses

Good day!

We have 3 companies under a single management. Companies do have their own NAV2009 SP1 instances and licenses, 2 are under a 1 business partner then the other 1 on a different partner (a headache in terms of getting support).
To improve the administration and leverage on the available licenses, I'm thinking of combining the 2 licenses into one. This will create 1 database with 2 companies. User licenses will then be combined.

Based from 1 business partner, the license is independent per company and this has to be set up in two databases, one per license (I'm thinking that this a business strategy to maintain 2 BREP payments). The other partner is telling it differently, the consolidation can be applied as long as both license are on same edition and the companies must be affiliates.

Your thoughts on this are appreciated.

If there is more than 50% same owner for the companies, you can run the companies under one license (but I am not licensing expert...). It means it should work for you, question is, if partner is able to consolidate the license in some way. One way is to extend one with missing things from the second license and "end" the second one (question is, if there will be some cost of that or it will be somehow covered, but I think that it depends on the Microsoft guys doing the business).
