[2013 R2] Giant file size "Save as PDF"

Greetings,

at the moment a very special problem occurred while saving a report as pdf:

The example print contained 11 pages, every page owns 5 Pictures (total of ~1,5 MB) and after telling Navision "Save as PDF" the file had a size of 11 MB.
Our customers also tried using a external PDF-Printer. Result: 109 KB - a massive difference.

So I tried printing the same setting as Word-Document and the file size was just 1,5 MB, it took only 0,5 MB after saving the file from word as PDF.

My question: Is there any reason why the PDF-Printer of NAV itself misbehaves that much and how could I have an influence on the size? :-k

Kind regards from Germany

Picture are repeated in the dataset for each row. You need to makes sure that it only runs once. I.e. create a Integer at top and make this integer run only once or Clear the Picture varaible. Unfortunately standard reports produce the Picture for each row in dataset.
Why Word pdf is smaller is because the Header is only sent once to Word.

Thanks for the hint with words header/footer - totaly forgot that.

I already optimized the dataset this way and every picture only exists in the first row of it. Afterwards every picture gets cleared.
Unfortunately this wasn't the solution I'm looking for :/
