How to iImport data from remote path

Dear All,
We are using NAv2009. I want to import data from remote path like http://www.customers.com/cust.csv . I created simple dataport with Cust ID and balance. when i mention the path in import filename in dataport iam getting "The file name http://www.customers.com/cust.csv contains special character that cannot be used. But i have mentioned custid and balance and also only 3 rows data.

Why iam getting this issue. Can you please help me out.

Thanks for your reply. I dont want download the file into my local drive. I want to import the data into table when i click import from the remote path.

Please advise.
