How much memory have the PC? Sometime the client has memory leaks, thus heavy usage on PC with too less memory could be unstable. We have similar problems. Mostly when using page with repeater with progress bars etc.0
-
Kine,
machine have only 4GB RAM.
We could easily simulate this error, just need to run some report a few times.
Report dont have any progress bar.
is there any fix for this issue from NAV client side, other than enhancing PC memory?aav!o0 -
You need to try the latest build. Hard to say if it helps or not.0
-
kine,
We have tried with build 36259 which is the latest build available for NAV 2009R2.
https://mbs.microsoft.com/customersourc ... ixOverview
but can we confirm this build 36259 will contain all earlier hotfixes?
have noted that, earlier hotfix - 36136 (RoleTailored client is leaking memory in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009) is available,
although our issue is in classic client, not in RTC, should user try with this hotfix?
Thanks,aav!o0 -
You should also check drives with temp files (System and NAV) and pagefile.sys. Make sure there is ample space, quota, access rights. Perform a file system check on them, including surface scan. Also check the event log.
What else is running on the machine? Is it NAV that uses unusual amounts of resources or is NAV just starved by other processes?
Is it any particular function within NAV that causes resource consumption? If so, does this happen on this machine only or does it too if you run those functions on other machines?0 -
Hotfixes are cumulative, unless stated differently. In the past, not every hotfix contained all files that have changed since the latest platform update, though. E.g. Files for ODBC or GantServer or Style Sheets ... might be missing, i.e. contained in an earlier hotfix only. I don't know if this has changed by now.aavio wrote:... but can we confirm this build 36259 will contain all earlier hotfixes?0
