Analysis View Entry table

Hello,

We need to use analysis by dimension reporting but on some dimension we not been using and how we can do that.?

Can I delete data in the Analysis View Entry table by going to the table and delete? Will anything serious happen?

What do you mean by some dimension not being used? In an Analysis View you can set only four dimensions anyway.

No, nothing serious will happen. If you change something in the configuration of your Analysis View then the same will happen, the system will delete all current Analysis View Entries of that View.

If you want to exclude certain Dimension Values then you can set a Dimension filter in your Analysis View configuration. Please go to the Analysis View Card in question, click on Button Analysis and then on Filter. Here you can define a filter to reduce the Dimension Values that are taken into account. Please be aware of that the Analysis View Entries will be deleted (like I said before) because giving a different filter means changing the configuration of that Analysis View.

Depending on the View and the amount of data you have in your system, it might take quite a long time to rebuild that Analysis View. So, you have to be absolutely sure. Sometimes it's maybe better to create a new Analysis View, just for the special cases you want to check at the moment.

Also, be aware of that too many Analysis Views and/or too less Data Compression maybe also lead to slow Analysis View Reports as the amount of Analysis View Entries is too high.
