NAV 2009 R2
Have been using NAV for 2 years.
NO problems with connections, up until this week.
RTC clients that are on VPN or in another office location via Site to site VPN can no longer connect to RTC. Classic works fine.
Telnet, ping test, etc all work fine to the application server.
No changes in our environment
When you connect you receive could not create connection error.
Then you receive another error that says
A server was not found at
net.tcp://servername:7036/test-nav/Service. Either the URL is incorrect or the server is currently unavailable

A few checks I usually to for troubleshooting:
- Is the RTC service running (sometimes worth restaring it)?
- Any trace in NST Event Viever?
- Any firewall modification?
- Does it raise the same error using server IP instead of server name?* Daniele Rebussi * | * Rebu NAV Diary *0 -
RTC service is running. Users in our headquarters can access content via RTC no problem.
What is the NST event viewer?
We do not run local software firewall and our main firewall has been untouched.
IP gives same error0 -
NST event viewer is the event viewer on server where RTC service is installed: since it's running fine in this case there's no need to check it.
- Did you try also connecting to servername.domain.us:7036/test-nav/Service?
- Areas the users working via VPN in the same Active Directory domain? Different domains can cause problems sometimes.
- Did you implement certificates for security purpose? Here's a walktrough, if can be useful for you: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg502467.aspx* Daniele Rebussi * | * Rebu NAV Diary *0
