Filter on Option field: drop down very slow

Hello,
When I want to filter on an Option field, this is many times really slow.
To clarify, the filtering of the records themselves is fine. (ie it's not a key issue or a flowfield or anything)

The problem is when I select the drop-down in the filter pane. It takes several seconds to see the options.
This of course is quite a long time to view the option values, which are a real basic data type.

Has anyone else experienced this?
It's in all the RTC versions (I've seen it 2009 and 2013) so that's quite a glaring bug to stick around for so long...

Does it happen only with that specific field or also on other options of different tables?
Does it include a great number of options?

I have noticed it on multiple fields.
For example, just now I tried it on the Status field on the Jobs.
It took about 7 seconds to display the different options.
