Inventory Purchase Order Report

Dear Expert,

When i ran Inventory Purchase Order Report, i've got an error message says "The length of the string is 32, but it must be less than or equal to 30 characters. Value: 137 LITTLE MISS Terang Variasi 1".

or your information, item related has 32 character on Description field.

then i checked to Description Field on the Item Card Table, and page as well, the maximum character of that field is 50. but if we looked at Item Description field on the report, the maximum character is 30. in previous version (2009R2), maximum character of Description field in Item Card is 30, which is same as the report.

anyone could give me information, whether it is bug or what..

    Hi Yohana,
    it seems to be a bug - not a feature.
    I verified it in NAV 2013R2, build 36105.
    Looking at report 709 - Inventory Purchase Orders, the report is using a variable ItemDescription. During runtime, the Description field from the item table is geting assigned to it. The report variable is Text 30 while Item.Description is Text 50 as you already mentioned. This leads to text overflow issues when assigning item descriptions more then 30 characters long.
