Hi guys,
i have see this article
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/nav/archive/2014/02/24/installing-microsoft-dynamics-nav-2013-r2-side-by-side-with-microsoft-dynamics-nav-2013.aspx about installing Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 on side by side with NAV 2013.
I want to have to 2 demo databases (customized).
What are the steps that i have to do?
Should i install 2013 R2 first? If yes what should be the user that needs to run the service?
After that should i install 2013 after that? If yes what should be the user that needs to run the service? and i need to change the ports right?
Thanks for your attention.

I recently did this myself (with a little help from my friends at ArcherPoint. Here's the key: You need to have both the 2013 and 2013 R2 versions at a 35,000 or above build level. They don't play nice at lower levels. So I upgraded by NAV 2013 platform to build 35782 (Cumulative Update 9 I believe - just what I had downloaded at the time). Then I installed NAV 2013 R2, and updated it to the latest build (Cumulative Update 5).
They work fairly well together with one exception. The admin tool will show you instances for both 2013 and 2013R2, but they'll only work for the version they are designed for. So, to make things simpler if you keep both versions long term as I will, name your instances with the version included like "NAV2013NST1", and "NAV2013R2NST1", or "DogNAV2013" and "CatNAV2013R2" - whatever works for you.
In doing this I also installed Visual Studio 2012 for report design on NAV 2013 R2. It will sit nicely along side VS 2010 without any arguments. I did, however, have to install an update due to my Windows version 7 (KB2781514).So You Want to be NAV Developer?

Thanks Faithie for you answer.
After that you modify some of the existing entries in the Windows registry like the article that i have put on my first post?0 -
Few days ago I install on my PC NAV 2009 R2, 2013 and 2013 R2.
Step by step job was that first I stoped all services from 2009 R2, and then install 2013 and validate that installation is successful (run rtc, and dev env with databases) then I stoped the service from 2013 and install 2013 R2 and after that all my NAVs works fine. I also use several different DB-s on NAV 2013 and NAV 2013 R2 and all thing that I do is to change Database Name in Microsoft Dynamics NAV Administration, also depends which NAV I wanna connect with a new DB.0
