One of our clients sends out e-mail confirmations on sales order. When the receiver receives the email, the body of the email looks fine in Outlook (properly formatted) but when you open the mail in Yahoo Mail, the formatting is messed up (carriage return are missing; If there was an empty line between two lines, that empty line is missing, etc).
Has anyone ever faced this issue before and what did they do to overcome it?

Chinese characters shown when sending SMTP mails to hotmail
- The message does not adhere to standard
- the MUA does not adhere to standard
Check the first for yourself. You probably will find that your message is broken (or rather the message generating components are broken). You can do something about it by updating and using parameters that generate a valid message. If you find that it is not your fault in the first place i.e. the message you send adheres to standard, you still have two choices:
- Blame the recipient and ignore the issue
- Try to find some setup which works for most recipients
With the latter, we are back where I pointed you to.
