NAV2009R2 to NAV20013R2. Convert DB dialog not appears

Hi All!

Upgrading from NAV2009R2 to NAV20013R.
Trying open the old base version of the NAV2009 database using the NAV2013 Development Environment and excepted db converting dialog appears but it is not (all forms and dataports are removed)

Only message like this:

The DEMO database on the MSSQLSERVER2012 server cannot be opened by this version of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Development Environment.

Upgrade the database to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 before opening it with this version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV Development Environment.

We faced the same problem. We tried to open a NAV 2009 R2 database in the NAV 2013 R2 development environment, but we don't get a question to convert the database to the new format. Is it possible that this can only be done with a partner license? We tried this with a customer license.

You first have to do the conversion with 2013 only, then 2013 R2 i.e. you cannot do the conversion directly from 2009 R2 to 2013 R2.

You can upgrade from NAV2009 to NAV2013R2 in one step. Only extra step is that you have to perform a technical upgrade of the DB to NAV2013 before opening the DB in NAV2013R2.
