You will learn what tools, libraries and techniques are used and how to deliver a SharePoint portal that contains webparts that are based on the Dynamics NAV Web Client.
Level: 300 - Advanced
Speaker: Arend-Jan Kauffmann
We have also added 6 labs. These are 2h workshops where you can try out the new NAV 2015 using your own laptop. You'll use a virtual machine on Azure, so no particular software needs to be installed first.
NAV 2015 - Administration with PowerShell
In this lab, we will take participants through all the PowerShell tools that allow you to manage a Microsoft Dynamics NAV installation from the command-line. We will start off the lab with a short introduction to PowerShell itself.
Participants in this lab should have some experience configuring and managing Microsoft Dynamics NAV installations. A basic knowledge of PowerShell is helpful but not necessary.
NAV 2015 - Rapidstart upgrade - Data & Code
The new release of Microsoft Dynamics NAV brings you a brand new set of upgrade tools and techniques to help you keep up with the new versions of the product, cumulative updates and other updates affecting data and code. With the pace the application is evolving these days – you need to learn the new way of handling the code updates and data migration. And Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 has a lot to offer in this area. Come to this lab to get hands-on experience of working with the new code merge utilities, Microsoft Dynamics NAV Development Shell, data upgrade codeunits and data upgrade cmdlets.
NAV 2015 - Implement in Office 365 on Microsoft Azure
Join this lab to familiarize yourself with the integration between Azure, Office 365, SharePoint 2013 and Microsoft Dynamics NAV. You will have the opportunity to learn how to deploy Microsoft Dynamics NAV in the cloud. We will start with familiarizing yourself with the basics of Windows Azure infrastructure as a service. Afterwards you will deploy your first Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 on Windows Azure and understand how to manage it. We will also discuss the possibilities to automatically provision Microsoft Dynamics NAV in a repeatable business scenario. You will have the chance to explore the SharePoint App Model – new in SharePoint 2013 – and see the capabilities exposed by Microsoft Dynamics NAV that allow you to build powerful portal solutions.
NAV 2015 - Document reporting
Join this lab to try out the new Word document report layout and report scheduling features. We will cover customizing the built-in Word and RDLC layouts, building a new Word layout reusing an existing Word invoice community template, refactoring and upgrading datasets for layouts, and scheduling a report to execute server side. Both beginners and experience report developers are welcome in this lab.
NAV 2015 - Developing for the Tablet Client
New tools, new dev environments, new skills, new languages, new devices.
You won’t need any of that to build great content for tablets with the new Dynamics NAV Tablet Client. Join this lab to get hands-on and discover for yourself how quickly and easily you can enable read and write scenarios for users who need access to their data on the go from their preferred device.
NAV - Reporting best practices
In this lab we will present some best practices for creating RDLC reports in Microsoft Dynamics NAV. We will focus on defining the right and optimized report dataset, working with text resources, groups and layout, and provide some tips and tricks on how you can reduce the development time of your reports. Both beginners and experienced RDLC report developers are welcome.
Thanks for making this great event possible!
