Cheating Partners ...

Recently, a cheating partner has come to my attention.
What they do:
- sell very cheap licenses and order these at Microsoft
- install their own license at the customer's database
consequense: customer can do everything while they bought a very cheap license.
This is no fair competition, off course, and for Microsoft a bad deal. Anybody know what can be done? Anybody else had the same experience with a MS Partner? Comments on this?

It is not allowed to install the partner's license at the customer's database.
If MBS get informed about this, this "partner" will no longer be one.
As you wrote, this "partner" cheat the customer because he pay for a license which he never get.Timo Lässer

They broken licence agreement... There is only one way - inform MS or another organ to check this...0

Yes, but they got award because cheating... :evil:0

I think that part should be included in the agreement.
Better if the license needs some activation from Microsoft to prevent cheat

But ... Developper licences are therically tim limited (valid one year only).
So they will have problems with their customers after one year of use , no ?0 -
Waldo,
the best you can do is to inform some 100% licensed customers for the ones using partner's licenses. I'm sure they will drive MBS crazy for this.0 -
I'm afraid that in most of the cases the client may consent and encourage that:
-They will save a lot of money (and you know how financial managers are)
-The parner will have a most loyal client (for they will be afraid to change)
-MBS will be happy with the Parner as a good seller if not aware of it and if they do they wouldn't like that to be know anyway.
But this looks like more of a cowboy-like enterpreneur company doesn't it. It's unlikely for a serious partner to do that [-( [-( [-( [-( [-(Navision Developer0 -
It's the biggest in Belgium at the moment... . I know now how they became the biggest... .
We've taken over some customers, and really ... they are cowboys ... . They are trying to turn Navision into some kind of "of-the-shelf" product. They discourage modifications in the database, only work with template invoice/CM reports, ... .
I really have no problem with the fact they are the biggest (I definitally know they are not the best...), but the have to play the game in a fair way, not the way they are doing now... [-X0 -
Hi Waldo, in the first post you said that this partner ordered the customer license to Microsoft. My question is that: Does Microsoft not charge the partner or the customer directly for the license ordered. Who pays for the license ordered to Microsoft?? If the customer pays, then I think he must pay the normal license price, not the reduced one. If the partner pays to Microsoft the license, then who pays the big difference between the price charged to the client and the price Microsoft charges.....

Partner pays to MS, customer to Partner.
Partner orders small license to MS, puts Partner's developers license at customer. Therefore, customer pays little money to partner (for small license), but receives full functionality.
Al illegal as it gets...0 -
For such matters there should be a union of MBS Partners, so they can stick together against these kind of illegal activities.0

I don't think Microsoft would like this idea.Navision Developer0
