NAV license

If I get NAV 2013 user licenses forexample as I believe we cannot get older licenses no more. So if we get NAV 2013 license will it work on our current version NAV 2009 GB?

I am talking about the user licenses and not the developer license. Thanks

    The end-user NAV 2013 licenses are not backward compatible with prior versions.

    BTW - There's no such thing as a developers license.
    There are no bugs - only undocumented features.

    You can still buy NAV 2009 License (new/old customer). The difference is that when you will upgrade to NAV 2013 or higher version you will need to pay the difference of NAV 2009 License cost and new NAV version license cost. I am not sure difference will be calculated based on the purchase date prices or prices on the date of upgrade but surely you can buy NAV 2009 licenses as on date.
