2013 R2 Upgrade There must not be empty base unit of measure

Am trying to complete Navision upgrade and got the following error on running step 2:
There must not be empty Base Unit of Measure. Please fill it in for Temp Item ItemNo before updating.
Few years ago we were not existing and few years to come we would be in the grave! So what will benefit us in the grave?

    you have item with blank based uom. fix the data in the temp table

    I ran into the insact same problem, but I cannot change the Base unit of measure, as there exits ledger entries.

    What to do ? ](*,)
