Entity with blank number and Number series assigned

Dear all,

We are upgrading to NAV2013 and experience the following issue:

For technical reasons we have let's say item with blank number (inserted to db programmatically). Also we have the number series assigned to item creation.

In NAV5.0 we were able to create items normally, but now in RTC we have the error "The record already exists" so item creation is blocked.

Is it any resolution for this issue? Also it is very interesting what is the cause of such change in the system behaviour. Seems that now it checks for duplicates before it executes any code on OnInsert trigger.
