smtp error 10053 while using the SMTP Mail OCX

Hi there,

i have a problem with the smtp mail ocx that is available for download here at mibuso.com.
Every time i try to send a mail i get the error message "smtp error 10053".
But as far as i know (and what i found on the internet) smtp error codes always have three numbers, not five.
So does anyone know what that error means (or maybe how to solve it)??

i would be happy about every tip

pp: does anyone know if there is a list of all functions that are available with that ocx? or how i can get such a list?

    I am experiencing the same kind of error as you did and would like to know if you resolved this issue and what the problem was.

    Funny to notice I had the same problem yesterday :roll: . After googling with "smtp error 10053" I found a suggestion that the firewall caused the error. My administrator changed some settings for our McAfee Firewall, et voila, my code worked.

    Hi

    Thanks for this , i have removed the "Prevent mass mailing worms from
    sending mail" tick on Access Protection and now everything is working well.

    However i will not recommend that you make this change permanently for security reasons. I just keep this un-ticked during testing then i switch back to my default Virus settings after testing.
