Change ID# for a Report

midnightmidnight Member Posts: 74
We have a report that I would like to remove two columns on (certain people should not see this info) and then import that report as another id number. For instance I have report 10048. I would like to export that, and import it as report id 50125 and remove the two columns on that report. Some people can see the original report and others the one with the two columns gone. How can I change the report ID?

Thanks

    Hi midnight

I usually do this by opening the object to design, then change the ID an name in the properties of the object before saving.
Another option is to use cut and paste. On paste, NAV will tell you that the object exists and offer you to retype ID and name in the columns of the object list.

Or exporting the objecy in .txt format, edit text file (ID and object name, version list, etc...) and import it again.

Do you need a developers license to do this. I'm getting permission errors attempting to do this, I have super permissions.

    Thanks

You need to have permission to insert/create the new object.
In case you use the copy and past approach, you need to place focus on an object you are allowed to create itself before you paste.
