Year End Routine (Stock) & Jet Reports

Hi there, I have two questions for all you Nav Buffs out there;
1) Running Year End Routine - in process of running Year End and was wondering how it affects stock?
We have never updated stock, unsure correct terminology, but would this affect this in any way?
We also need instruction how to run this so we can then run it on a daily/weekly basis? Think we should run it for the first time at the weekend as unsure how long it might take.
2) Jet Report Scheduler - Naming Files
I am trying to schedule a report creating a filename that will state the previous month.
IE if I run a report today the file name will end with 201310 (October 2013).
