File Database Open - Find Options Greyed-Out

Hi.
My first time running the 2013 Development Environment and a bit of a shock ...
Did the usual (2009) File Database Open, F6 on Database Name, and Ctrl-F to find the database I want. (There are over a hundred on the server.) I type in a fragment of the name, Enter, and WHAM! - "The search item 'whatever' was not found."
Oh, right, 1st time in this client so I have to click "Any Part of Field" and make sure "Match Case" is Off.
F6 again and SURPRISE! Of the three Match options, only "Whole Field" is available; "Beginning of Field" and "Any Part of Field" are greyed-out.
So, I consider the situation and grow meditative ...
Unless there is someway of re-enabling these options, the user-experience is this:
You can use Find to find and select the database name, as long as you type in the entire name. Which begs the question: What good is Find at all? If I have to type the whole name in to "find" it I might as well just type it into the Database Name field. If I can remember the entire name that is ...
Does anyone know if those two greyed-out options can somehow be enabled?
Thanks!

So, I guess this is some sort of 'enhancement' in 2013 ... it must have been a slow day when they did this.0
