Difference in print preview and print layout

I have a report in 2013 that produces numerous pages. If I preview the report then it shows exactly how I want the report to look. However if I look at the Print Layout I have blank pages through the report and the report basically doubles the number of pages that print. Any idea what I have done wrong?

I am not sure, but I have had similar problems when the report area exceeds the Width of the printer/paper layout and thereby giving me blank pages (extra pages).
Try narrowing down the Report Width to match the e.g. A4 format.

The preview option uses a different rendering than when you actual prints the report, so you better don't rely on the preview output.
