Windows 8.1 won't authenticate

We installed Windows 8.1, upgrading from Windows 8 as a routine test for compatibility. Now SQL will not authenticate to the Windows logins whereas the Windows server does. This is both a warning and a cry for help. I've tried everything. I realize this is a Windows issue but has serious repercussions for RTC. Has anyone else had this issue?
