Upgrade question - Dynmaics NAV 2013 or 2013 R2

Hi, we are planning an upgrade for a customer currently running an old version of NAV. There is obviously a lot of mixed feelings regarding the R2 version just released but I am unsure if issues that have been discussed so far are relevant in my case.

So the question I have is should I upgrade to to the latest R2 version or will that only cause more problems than going with the older 2013 version. What could be the deciding factor? This customer has no use for multi tenancy and we can live with the backup/restore limitations.

Any thoughts on the subject?

Best regards,
Gulli

I have always used the latest release version when upgrading. Mainly for all the bug fixes that have been done to the application layer.
Improvements in reporting and Performance improvements are another benefit.

Old developers like us just like to complain.

Put your client in NAV2013 R2.

You don't offer much reasoning. For sure in the past going with the latest version has always been a sound strategy but I am unsure since there is so much negativity surrounding the release of R2. But after looking into it a bit more I think we will be fine with going that way.

    Agree. Newest version.
And then learn to use Powershell. There are some video's to guide you.

That's the pent-up frustration talking. I'm also looking into R2, and of all RTC releases its the most sound, as it seems.
