Hello all,

I just installed Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 W1 and I am facing an issue with the company selection. Specifically, I don't see the option to select company in the Development environment.
After investigation i found out that in NAV 2013 R2 you can create company through the RTC client (Departments/Administration/IT Administration/General/Companies) and you can navigate between companies as usual.

My problem is that when i try to run a page from the Development environment, i get an error message that "The company name must be specified if the server and instance are specified". How can I run a table in 2013 R2 and view its data?

Thank you in advance.

Make shortcut to Development environment and set ID in shortcut. In servis you must select Default company in restart servis

Thank you tedl30 for your response.

So, the bottom line is that we cannot run pages directly from the development environment of NAV 2013 R2?
    Am I getting this right?

    Regards

    OK, now I'm lost.

Can you please be a little more specific? A few more details would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you very much again.

So, if I am getting this right, I should go to Tools->Options and then put the company name I need in the parameter Company???

The company name in Tools-Options will be used when starting the Windowc Client from the Developement Environment.

So, when I am in the Development Environment, how do I know which company I am working with?

In Developement Environment you are working with the Application that is common for all companies.

In the Windows Client you are always in one company at a time. This setting is so the Windows Client knows what company to open when you for example run a table in the Developement Environment.

I was having similar questions and I did find the settings for company and server instance and whatnot in the development environment.

    But after having set:

    Servername
    Server instance name
    Server port
    management port
    Company

I still am not able to run any objects from the dev. environment. I do not get any error mesages or anything like that. When I try to run a page ... nothing happens.

Any ideas as to what is causing this ?
    Best regards

Thx. That kind of works. Now I just need to get Dev. Environment to start the 7.10 RTC client and not the 7.0 client. *sigh*

Select your shortcuts properties. In the line ending with:

finsql.exe" .. add ID as follows:

    finsql.exe" id=someid
    Best regards
