driver version not updated

To acceed to the database installed on the Server (SQL Server database),
I have installed the Navision Client (MINIMAL feature) on the PC of the client that i want run the option Microsoft SQL Server for MBS NAvision (finsql.exe).
N.B. : The OS installed on the Client Computers is Windows 2000 or Windows XPWhen running Option SQL Server from the client computer, i can not open the database and an error message is shown :
"The driver version of your ODBC is not updated.
To be used with Navision 4.0, u should update the ODBC to the version 2000.85.1022 or later. For this, U should install the component MDAC (customized setup)."
I want to know why this problem happen on some computers using Windows 2000 or Windows XP Operating systems and not happen with others with the same Operating Systems.
